This map shows Block 6 of Bushnell’s Addition subdivided into thirty-six lots of nearly equal

size. The block is bisected by an alley, which still exists today along with some of the original

lot dimensions. This block is located across the street (Clark St.) from Washington Square and

within steps from the location of Mahlon D. Ogden’s home, where the Newberry Library is now

located. As noted in the script, Mahlon D. Ogden was both the Executor and Trustee of the

Estate according to the last Will and Testament of William E. Jones. It should also be noted that

this map was created one day after the death of William B. Ogden.

Condition:

Contemporary folding that resulted in several edge splits. Some paper loss within

letters of the stamp seal. Ink stamp and scrip on the verso.
